An Overview Of The Benefits Of Houston Vending Machines

By Rebekah Alford

A look at the numbers confirms that for Houston vending is a money minting machine. In nineteen forty seven, the automatic selling business generated about six hundred and seventy million dollars in sales; by two thousand and seven, that figure had risen to over forty billion dollars, and is still rising. More data shows that in the decade between nineteen eighty and nineteen ninety, sales rose by well over a hundred and forty percent.

The machines are not about to go away either; they are being imbued with new capabilities every day. For instance, many can now accept credit and debit cards; some can dispense both hot and cold items, and even small sized pizza is now available. According to recently released data, two hundred thousand quarters are used in automatic selling machines every minute around America.

This line of business has several advantages. The first is that a person can keep their regular job and do this part time. Unlike most businesses, this does not require a person to be physically available. Restocking and removing cash can be done at a convenient time. One operator reports that a hundred machines can be handled by one person in a weekend.

Since the machine is mobile, it can always be moved to a new location if the old one has few or no sales. Another benefit is that no employees are needed, particularly if the business is small. Even when they are, the number needed is far lower than for a normal business with a comparable level of sales. This minimizes labor costs.

Another benefit lies in the fact that unlike human beings, these machines need no rest or breaks. They work round the clock, rain or shine, hail or snow. With them, there is no labor unrest, payroll preparation, or the attendant problems that come with employing people. There are no advertising or marketing costs since a fully stocked machine speaks for itself.

If the business is home based, there will be no renting or leasing costs. All this translates to minimal overheads. Another advantage lies is that cash flow is immediate; from the moment the first customer inserts a coin, the money starts coming in. There is no waiting for checks to mature and so on. With the coming of card based machines, this advantage looks set to continue for a long time.

For schools that choose to install these in their premises, they can have the piece of mind that comes with knowing exactly what is being sold within their compounds; it will not be a front selling one thing while drugs are being sold at the back.

A word of warning to the wise, however; some business skills are necessary before getting into the venture. These include accounting, knowledge on how to pick the right target markets, selecting the right products, among others. The idea is to avoid reinventing the wheel by learning from mistakes. It is easier to learn from those others made instead. As far as Houston vending is concerned, wisdom precedes action.
