Amateur Sports and Las Vegas Youth Baseball

You do not have to be a pro to love playing sports in Las Vegas. There are plenty of great non-professional sports in Las Vegas for children and grownups looking to join a team and get active. Some opportunities let players hone their talents and work for more challenging sports feats, while the others are simply there to let players play and have fun.

Youth Baseball

The area's year-long warm weather makes Las Vegas a real hotbed for youth baseball and teams. Las Vegas youth baseball squads are among some of the top traveling leagues in the country, competing and winning many celebrated competitions. Top Las Vegas youth baseball players can improve their talents at the Vegas Baseball Academy, which offers all year instruction and travel teams for youth players eight years and older. The academy also puts on contests which attract top attention from around the country.

Youth Soccer

Youth soccer carries on growing as amongst the preferred amateur sports in Las Vegas. Top boys and girls soccer players in the Vegas area can join organizations by the Nevada Youth Soccer Association, which also hosts the annual State Cup. Indoor soccer is another way for youth players to get your kicks; the Las Vegas Indoor Soccer Center hosts indoor soccer leagues for kids during the year together with the US Indoor National Championship.

Kickball

Kickball isn't only for kids! Adults can enjoy playing this delightful retro game in leagues throughout Las Vegas. The World Adult Kickball Association has 1 or 2 leagues in Las Vegas. Players can join teams and play weekly games while enjoying post-game food and drinks at league sponsor bars across Las Vegas. The city of Las Vegas has a particular connection to competitive kickball. Las Vegas the home to the once a year kickball World Championships, which pulls 64 clubs from around the country and pays the winning team a top prize of $20,000.

Hockey

While you might not think of Las Vegas as being a place for playing ice hockey, there are many strategies for adults and children to hit the ice and play some hockey. You can suit up at the Las Vegas Ice Center, which hosts youth and adult leagues together with leagues specially for for girls. It also hosts an introductory league that gives kids the opportunity to learn the sport.
