NLP Explained

By Lan Thomas

NLP stands for Neuro-linguistic Programming and is simply a process inn which individuals communicate in striving to achieve their personal development or goals in life. This is a process akin to programming and developing skill sets that are beneficial in a person's life.

NLP shapes an individual behavior especially that learned through what has been experienced. There has been a lot of controversy trying to explain this concept because people tend to associate it to both success and failures in life. The subject entails a close balance between success and failure where success is seen to originate from copying others.

The study of NLP is as confusing as the human brain and the more one delves into the subject, the more they unravel complicated issues. This is a method humans use to choose what is appealing and that which is not helpful in ones life. It is the middle ground between what one believes as beneficial and what others have embraced leading to making critical but independent choices.

People like experimenting before implementing a fact that is internalized in human brains. Once there is some green light of success, the brain communicated to the individual and that is how people act or make decisions. Superstars are many people's role models and we do not look at how they have achieved what they have but only see them for what they are at present. The processes that catapult them to stardom tend to be in background when we want to associate with them.

NLP looks at what has been internalized by the player to become who they are through negating the entire process that the player has gone through to become great in their specialty forgetting the devotion part of the process. NLP works on the assumption that by interviewing a top achiever, you can do better than them through replicating and negating the process of goal achievement.

In its extreme programming, the skills imparted or acquired are converted to the power or persuasion. These are efforts to improve performance and are achieved through various forms of training, coaching, counseling and therapies as well. The brain through NLP helps in identifying friends even if they are for convenience sake and helps individuals gain confidence in articulating their ideas to others.

Giving a public speech, for instance, entails a succession of quick mental programming depending on the mood of the listeners. imaginations are NLP formulations through invoking the state of trance/ through emotions, you are able to understand how people function think and you on the other hand understand them.

The way our minds are programmed enable us influence others according to what we think is right. When these thoughts are translated to verbal communication, we try and get value on the information. NLP shapes our verbal techniques for us to be understood and understand others.
